"...in facing the difficult choices that need to be made..."

What difficult choices are they, and what choices would you make?

You might think you're a leftie, but you have to learn what being a leftie means first and the only way to learn that is by being taught by right wingers on here via the medium of vast sweeping statements.

Re: Will UKIP make a difference?
As for 'leftie', that one does make me laugh.

Yes, I'm at 'leftie' as you would have it because I'm not one of the one percent, and I'm not stupid enough to believe that what is good for them is good for me, my Country or indeed the World.

Whilst you hang on to a belief that a failed system is going to solve the problems it's created, then there really isn't anything much worthy of discussion to be had is there?

Be honest with yourself for a while, look at what is happening around us, who is benefitting, and what is being done to the Britain our children will inherit. Then ask yourself if any of the mainstream Political parties have any interest whatsoever in facing the difficult choices that need to be made beyond four years of tinkering at the edges.

No way in hell.

No one hates UKIP more than the tories.

Labour and Tory are more likely to.

It almost happened in Thurrock.

"You were commenting eh? Without a view to discussion. Seems a little high-handed for a discussion board.

Do you have delusions of grandeur or are you just a self-righteous leftie so convinced of the rightness of your own opinion that you will hear no other?

It must be one of the two."

Beautiful.

It might be neither, it could be both. I'm sure you'll not be able to help telling me what I think.

As fro 'leftie' that

Re: Will UKIP make a difference?
Well in the wake of UKIP's successes in the last election, Tory have started trying to convey a more "tough" approach on things like immigration and the EU (even though it's obviously PR bollocks) so it does go to show that public opinion and parties like UKIP can influence the main parties.

As someone said on here, the fact that the tories and lefties are spouting EXACTLY the same lines about UKIP and even teaming up against them, shows that they're shitting themselves.

UKIP all the way.

In short, bullet point form

*the further eroding of workers rights.

I must admit I haven't seen the devil in the detail though.

I wasn't discussing Surfy dear boy, I was commenting. It's a different thing altogether.

Unless of course you have something of genuine interest to say about UKIP, which considering even their esteemed leader hasn't managed, I'm not sure you have in your bin.

That's just plain rude. You're not making a very good case for a grammar school education here, are you petal.

Re: Will UKIP make a difference?
Have people on here had access to UKIP's manifesto?

Or the other four main parties' manifestos for that matter.

I think the answer is no. Because no party has published one yet. So really, moaning about a specific lack of policy is pointless. Each party's broad policies are available on their websites. All of them.

Re: Will UKIP make a difference?
I'm all for (a party like) UKIP shaking the barrel and (hopefully) forcing the shit (bad apples) to the surface for all to see, but personally I think a UKIP with "a full set of policies" will be like a spoilt brat holding a loaded & cocked Uzi - a few bullets might (MIGHT) benefit the country but most will cause untold damage.

'UKIP are just a slightly more mental version of the Conservative party.

What they offer is not really even worth discussing'

Why are you discussing it, then?

What specific unfavourable subtext do you suspect?

My brothers went to sec mods and they are both worth a fortune.

I went to a grammar and live on a council estate.

They are never mentioned in the debate. And they were crap with horribly low expectations.

Does anybody have objections to secondary moderns?

Can't say I have noticed a groundswell of opinion against them.
